A Quick Pup-date
Friday, July 11, 2014
Good news, good news! First, thanks to all of you that expressed concern over Domino's recent surgery. Everything seemed to go well and he is now resting comfortable at home with "mom and dad" where we can keep an eye on him for the next week and a half. Keeping him inactive and from trying to jump up and down off furniture is going to be a challenge, because he loves to sit half on the back of the loveseat and half on my shoulder when I'm sitting there.
If it isn't one thing it's another...I pulled a muscle in my back 2 nights ago and can barely move. Hopping into the Jeep to drive to the vet and picking the dog up and down is a challenge, to say the least. And right before we were going to spend the weekend hoisting solar panels, too! Poor J...he's staying home today to take care of both of us.
I'm trying Tylenol pain crème, heat patches, heating pad and OTC pain meds. Anybody got a good remedy for back pain?
One Worried Puppy
Wednesday, July 09, 2014
Despite being on special food to prevent the stones, he's gotten them again. The vet did warn us 4 years ago that it was a probability that it would happen, but I had my hopes up. The $800 for the vet bills will do a number on our budget. Some might say it's insane to spend that kind of money on a pet but look at it this way....would you spend it on your kids? Well, he's my baby! And the alternative is to do nothing and, well...... the outcome there is not good.
Please cross your fingers and send good mojo in Domino's direction today, if you can. He's a scrapper and I'm sure everything will be fine, but I can't bear to think of losing my sweet pup-pup.

A Lucky Day

| Extra credit if you recognize the movie! |
Triple sevens, four-leaf clovers, lucky rabbit's foot. I should have bought a lottery ticket tonight because we have had one heck of a lucky day.
It started off with me walking into work from the parking garage and lo and behold there's a dollar bill lying on the sidewalk. Sure, it was no fortune...you can't even buy a soda out of a vending machine for a dollar any more. But a buck is a buck and, with no one in sight, I went ahead and picked it up and put it in my pocket. Little did I know that it was a foreshadow of the day to come.
Later that morning, I got some really incredibly great news. We're going to have some awesome new neighbors! That's right...we sold the house! And the great news is that we avoided having to put it on the market and over $6,000 in realtor fees, which allowed us to split the savings with the buyers. They are so excited about moving into this beautiful old house, and we are just as excited about having like-minded folks in the neighborhood. That'll be three houses on our block that have gardens and chickens. Woohoo! More on that later, but I don't want to jinx the deal. In fact, I hope I haven't jinxed it already by writing this. Aaarrgghhhhhh!
J. and I were supposed to head to the Wallflowers concert tonight at the Midland with his brother and his wife because J. won free tickets. But right before I left work, I got a phone call that was the perfect ending to the day. My sweet little Domino won an iPad3 in a contest that I had entered him into.

Who could resist that ornery sweet little pup?
J.'s brother bailed on the concert, which we weren't too upset about, so we stayed home and flopped on the sofa and loved on the dogs and reflected on how blessed we were today. With all the turmoil in the world, it's nice to know that the Universe hasn't forgotten how to smile on you once in awhile.
I hope you had a great day as well!

When Puppies Attack (PIC HEAVY)
Tuesday, September 11, 2012
Wouldn't that be a great title for a new show on Fox? Our youngest pup, Domino, could have been the star of the first episode. Here he is in all his cute puppiness. I think he's around 11 weeks in this picture.
Don't let that innocent and cute puppy face fool you. J. and I were trolling through some old pictures last night and came across this series of Domino as a puppy. He has been a little rapscallion from the day I brought him home.

Take that! Now that I'm done eating your camera, I'm going to eat your pants, too!
Or maybe I'll attack Finn and eat his head instead. Nom nom!
Let that be a lesson to all of you. I may be adorably cute, but I am really a viscious attack dog.
Really!
It's Hug Your Dog Day
Wednesday, April 11, 2012
Actually, yesterday was and I missed it! Not that I don't regularly love up my ornery little furry rapscallions every single day of their lives.
So I'm declaring today National Hug Your Dog Day II. So get out there and give those pups some luvin'!
WARNING: The following picture contains gratuitous puppy pornography. Parents, you've been warned.
Well, those are the furry critters here at Cranky Puppy. I'm being reminded now by Domino that I'm spending too much time on this computer and not enough time petting pooches, so I'll sign off now.
Have a great Hug Your Dog day, everyone!

| Sometimes the victims don't have to be 3 times her size. Poor Domino was trying to take a nap when he was the victim of a sneak attack here. |

Stop and Smell the Flowers

J. and I just came across this old photo of our youngest Pomeranian, Domino, as we were perusing old photos and I thought I'd share it with you. He's about 3 or 4 months old here and still learning about everything So innocent! Hard to believe that he's coming up on 6 years old now. He's my sweet baby, a definite momma's boy, and a mad, MAD smoocher.
I'm linking this up with the Sunday Best hop. If you want to see some more beautiful pictures, that's the place to be!

Time to Rest
Sunday, February 05, 2012
Sometimes you just got nothing. No energy to plan a garden, do the laundry, finish organizing the basement or anything else. Maybe it's the weather or all the shopping you did that day, or that exciting end to the Superbowl game. But that's when you need to take a cue from the dogs because they know what's best in this situation.
I think I'd pick a more comfy spot to fall asleep though.
